Identity, WebsiteScheels Wildlife Experience
Scheels is an employee owned department store where experts sell merchandise and services for a variety of sports, fashion and outdoor gear. With an abundance of stores across the west, midwest and south of the United States, each Scheels has a unique engaging community within their area.
The purpose of this brand addition was to showcase the 3 main animal attractions of Lincoln Scheels, the Aquarium, the Taxidermy Mountain and the rest of the taxidermy animals spread out in the store. This QR Code website allowed customers to read fun facts about the animals. The launch of this website included an in-person event called the “Wild Life Experience” where parents signed their kids up for candy worms, wild crafts, and got to see some fierce feathered friends thanks to Raptor Conservation Alliance.
The overall design takes in the bold and sharp choices the Scheels brand identity has. Paring the red, a warm outdoorsy pallet was used to elevate the attractions of the store and grab the attention of children. Following the outdoorsy feel, a sticker design was implemented into the components. Textures of several design imitate wildlife jurassic themes to give it more depth.
Design
The website was created using Google sites. Which is useful to create websites quick and easy. It becomes tedious when it one wants to create specific design choices. When it came to the layout of the animal facts, the initial idea was to set the animal’s latin name and diet underneath the animals name. Since the animals names length changes, the two facts had to change placement. Google code was used to style them as button like to create depth
